Shrink Wrappers and Bag Sealers

Shrink wrap systems are useful for food storage and for packaging up food because they are a highly effective method of preserving and storing.  Shrink wrapping protects food from exposure to germs and is quick and easy to use. 

Shrink Wrappers

When purchasing a shrink wrapper think about what you are wrapping because there are heavy and light duty options. Heavy duty shrink wrappers are suitable for large quantity use, light duty machines are for use a few times a day and suitable for small commercial facilities.  If you only need a shrink wrapper for occasional use choose something that is small, portable and will sit on your countertop not taking up too much space.  Food shrink wrappers are suitable for packing meat, cheese, pasta, fresh fruit and vegetables.  They work by removing all the air from the packaging while sealing it closed.  The package is then passed through a heat tunnel which shrinks back the film. 

Bag Sealers

If you prefer something very small and simple, then a bag sealer is suitable for light use and operates rather like an iron, sealing the top of the package shut removing any air, it is also fast and appropriate for bags of differing thicknesses.
