Market leaders Cofresco, in partnership with SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK, are looking to introduce a new recycling scheme to help support and promote sustainability across professional kitchens.

The initiative is called “Return to Recycle” and aims to create a circular economy for their dispensers. This scheme guarantees that dispensers are properly recycled at the end of their lifecycle, reducing the environmental impact of each dispenser and advancing Cofresco’s goal of achieving 100% circularity.

The Wrapmaster dispensers that Cofresco design and sell are of high quality and built to last, but the company recognises that even their dispensers have an end point. As such the new scheme allows chefs and operators to responsibly recycle both Wrapmaster® and other branded dispensers into new products. As a reward, participants in the program will receive a voucher for a free Wrapmaster® dispenser to replace their old one.

The Return to Recycle Journey

So, how exactly does the scheme work from the perspective of a chef / kitchen?

To start you need to go to Wrapmaster’s website and fill out the “Return Form”: https://www.wrapmaster.global/en/return-to-recycle/#form

Once you have filled this out you will receive a pre-paid label for the dispenser along with a voucher entitling you to one free Wrapmaster dispenser.

Then contact Alliance who will deliver your brand-new free dispenser into your facility in exchange for the voucher.

Once Wrapmaster have received your dispenser it will be sent to a Suez facility where it will be shredded, washed and separated into polymers and metals which are reprocessed and made ready for recycling.

After the polymers and metals have been reprocessed, they are sent to UK and EU manufacturers to be used as a substitute to virgin material in the creation of new products.

All the recycling that occurs is catalogued and certified by SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK where they register evidence of all their recycling.

This scheme ensures items which would otherwise end up in landfill get fed back into the recycling process and get used again closing the loop on dispensers. For more information contact your local Alliance depot or go to the above link to register your old, broken dispensers for a brand new free Wrapmaster dispenser.
